“This most beautiful site in Boston does not belong to the judges, it does not belong to the lawyers, it does not belong to the federal government. It belongs to the public.”

Stephen Breyer
Associate Justice, Supreme Court of the United States (Retired)

Discovering Justice was founded in 1998 with the goal of activating the civic space of the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse for the public. Today, thousands of visitors a year experience “this most beautiful site,” through our Field Trips, College Visits, Tours, and Courthouse Events led by Discovering Justice Staff and trained Volunteer Courthouse Education Guides.
Experience the Moakley Courthouse for yourself: Browse our website for more information on how to book your own visit. Reach out to fieldtrips@discoveringjustice.org for more information.
